Calafia Group is led by principals: owner-operators whose incentives, track records, and fiduciary posture are fully aligned with the businesses we build and the families we serve.
Sahil Nandwani is Chief Executive Officer of Calafia Group, a second-generation family enterprise rooted in wholesale and industrial operations since 1993. Before stepping into the principal seat, his career moved across domestic political campaigns, international economic development, and large-scale infrastructure. At HKN Ventures, he led a $300 million multi-village initiative in West Africa, an experience that cemented a simple operating conviction: own the operation, don't advise from the side.
That conviction now runs through every layer of Calafia Group. Finance, accounting, legal, insurance, lending, property management: each vertical exists because he decided to own it rather than rent it.
Outside the family office, Sahil sits on the National Small Business Association's Leadership Council and helped launch Students for Carbon Dividends. He studied Philosophy, Politics, and Law at the University of Southern California with a minor in Accounting, and spent time at The American University of Paris.
Kathryn Taylor is Chief Financial Officer of Calafia Group. Her career began in tax at Ernst & Young before taking a sharp turn into forensic accounting, first for offshore trust structures in the Cook Islands, then alongside the SEC in unwinding one of the largest ponzi schemes in the Pacific Northwest. From there, she spent nine years building and leading the finance function for a private equity firm and its subsidiary fund administration company, managing multi-entity reporting, fund accounting, and regulatory compliance across the portfolio.
At Calafia Group, that range shows. Kathryn oversees financial strategy, reporting, and compliance across the family office and every operating business beneath it, building the financial systems that give the platform visibility across every vertical and every entity on the balance sheet. She holds a Bachelor of Accounting from Saint Mary's College of California.
